Good Afternoon,
The Cardinal Cin's enjoyed the day yesterday catching the White-winged
Crossbill, Pine Siskin and Common Redpoll at Spring Grove Cemetery with Jim
and Alex Hickey and Mark Boardman. We parted with Jim, Alex and Mark and
stopped by Fernald later in the evening and while keeping the security
officer busy sharing our bird sightings with him, was able to distract him
long enough to see the Short -eared Owls make an appearance before we were
thrown out. Actually, the security officer was very kind to us allowing us
to park in the middle of the road, since there was no traffic. Lovely place
to be as the sun is coming down. The colors on the horizon were just
spectacular as waves of geese in their V formations flew over use. We
counted 7 N. Harriers active at one time and a Rough legged Hawk was mixing
with them. Debbie saw a coyote at some point in the evening, but lost track
of it before I could see it.
