Hi,

  The Redhawk cluster will be shutdown for maintenance on Jan. 2 - 3.  During this maintenance period a number of updates will be made, including expanding the storage capacity of the cluster.  The batch system has been configured to hold any batch jobs that will not be completed before the maintenance starts.  Also, people who use NoMachine/NX to connect to the cluster should be aware that any suspended NX sessions will be terminated when the cluster is shutdown for maintenance.

  We'd like to start planning two regular maintenance outages per year for the cluster to allow the system administrators to make updates.  In addition to downtime over winter break, we are proposing that the second planned downtime occur either at the end of the spring semester in May or just before the beginning of the fall semester in August.  Please let me know if you have comments on this.
