Hi there,

I noticed that there's some noise in the beginning of "Maybe". It's not
caused by a damaged surface on the CD since the noise occur both on my
american version of WFAD as well as on the european CD-single "Maybe".
The noise can be defined as "caused by static electricity" or something
like that.

Anyone who has a clue why they didn't make a clean recording? I don't think
it's a mistake, it's just too easy to discover the noise, so they just
couldn't have missed it.

Another thing, in most of Connells up-tempo songs the mixing seems very
rough. If you raise the volume on most songs on WFAD it will sound pretty
awful. I noticed that this is occuring on some of the other albums as well.
How come they don't engineer/mix the recording of the albums more "clearly"?
Compare with R.E.M.s latest album "New Adventures In HiFi", a rock record
which recording is excellent. Pure music, no noise and it's almost impossible
to make the songs sound bad or "blurry" by increasing volume.

Some "good" things with this "dirty sound" is that it gives a bit of live
feeling, the bad part is that you hardly can't play loud on those few
occasions when you want to blow out your audiosystem.

Anybody else who's thought about this?
