The 30th Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis and
Collection takes place from the 5th July - 15th August, 1997.

The Summer School runs three consecutive two-week sessions,
with 10-12 courses offered in each session. Courses focus on
the needs of researchers at three levels of expertise:
     'elementary' (e.g. Data Analysis for Beginners; Introduction to
                         Survey Research);
     'intermediate' (e.g. Time Series Analysis; Log Linear Analysis); and
     'advanced' (e.g. Latent Class Analysis; Structural Equation
                      Modelling; Bayesian Estimation).

There are also intensive data confrontation workshops on the
British Household Panel Survey data and on Comparative European data
resources.

Several bursaries are available to researchers and students working in
European Union countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Israel or Norway.
