It's called Collide Sessions and most of it is very good material. The Gufs
are heading to Toronto next month to record their new disc. It is being
produced by the same guy who produced the latest Our Lady Peace album. I have
heard 18 or so of the songs that they have to choose from for the new album
and there are several that should get airplay. Atlantic has dropped them down
to the Lava label in order to take advantage of the success that Mbox20 and
Sugar Ray have enjoyed on Lava. The pres of Lava has the current Midas touch
in the biz. Hopefully this will help the Gufs. If not, I fear another great
band might follow in the obscure footsteps of the Connells.
Remember the Connells's opening act on the WFD tour? Tonic.......they haven't
done too shabby in the last year now have they. I saw Tonic with the Gufs
last April right before they started getting major radio play, and a couple
band and crew members were wearing Connells Tshirts. They said that touring
with the 'Nells was a good experience.
