Hi all!
Just a quick word on the Cincinnati show. The guys sounded great, as
usual, (set list fairly similiar, with "Burden" and "Running Mary" in
and "Get a Gun" and "Sal" out) but just let me skip on to the encore,
as it was, for me, just unbelievable. All during the show, some guy
kept yelling for them to sing "Bela Lugosi's Dead"--the first song of
the encore was, you guessed it, "Bela Lugosi's Dead"! Doug was
absolutely hilarious, and right on the money, I might add. Then,
after some messing around, they actually played a cover of "Night
Moves"! (Bob Seger, for the unknowing) God, it was hilarious and
kick-ass rockin' at the exact same time! The band NEVER (oops, hardly
ever) plays ANY covers at Bogarts, so I was both amazed and ecstatic.
A few more songs (sorry, I have no memory right now of what they were,
possibly "Scotty's" and "Hey, You"??...) and they finished up with "
Pedro Says", which was absolutely beautiful.
The crowd was relatively small, and for the most part, stood around
like zombies. You know that no dancing law in the movie "Footloose"?
I think that Cincinnati has taken that law and enacted it in their
fair city! I don't know what we did to deserve such a great encore,
but I'm tellin' ya, I loved it!
Jack L., I think I saw you there, and I'm sorry I missed saying hi.
Next time, for sure! I hope you had a great time!
Later y'all,
Tracey
