10-11: U.S.-Cuban Custody Case: Last week, a group of Cubans
attempted to reach the U.S. by boat.  Only 3 survived the journey,
including a six-year-old boy whose mother and stepfather lost their
lives.  The child is now staying with relatives in Miami, while Fidel
Castro demands he be returned to his father in Cuba.  A panel
discusses this case and the larger issue of the state of U.S.-Cuban
relations.

11-12: Daniel Mark Epstein: Daniel Mark Epstein presents his new
biography of Nat King Cole.  In this season when we so often hear Nat
King Cole crooning "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..." Daniel
Mark Epstein tells the story of his early years as a jazz pianist and
singer, his work in the civil rights movement, and his amazing
popularity which made him the first African-American with his own
television show.  (Note: "Nat King Cole" is published by Farrar
Straus & Giroux)

Family Caregiving in the age of managed care. . .a talk with CAROL
LEVINE ("Leh-VEEN") about her efforts to increase support and
awareness for those who care for sick loved ones at home.  LEVINE
directs the United Hopital Fund's project on Family Caregiving, and
she's the sole caregiver for for her husband, who was critically
injured nine years ago in an automobile accident.
