The most recent issue (V. 52, No.1, 9/2000) of the journal of the 4 C's (Conference on
College Composition and Communication) contains an article I believe all of the
participants on this listserve would find fascinating.

The article, "The Erasure of the Sentence," was written by Robert J. Connors, who was
killed in a motorcycle accident in June, and the issue begins with an "In Memoriam"
for him. It, too is interesting reading.

Though the article complements my cynical views about one of my professional
organizations, it, along with Martha Kolln's keynote address at ATEG200 this past
summer, confirms my wisdom, when I told an NCTE membership phone-solicitor, that the
only reason I re-upped was so I could be treasurer of ATEG.

Enough venting.
