Hi Warren,

I live 10 minutes from the Newburgh Airport (Stewart International 
Airport, SWF is the code if you are searching for prices to it 
on-line.)   The problem with flying into Stewart is the limited 
connections from there.  Unless there is a bus that would take you from 
Newburgh to Fairfield, you  would need to rent a car or take a cab.  If 
you don't mind driving, it is 70.43 miles (1hr 39mins--as per MapQuest)  
from the airport to Fairfield University.  The highway that takes you 
there is no more than 5-7 minutes from the airport (you'd only have to 
drive on 2 different streets).  It is also a scenic highway that goes to 
Connecticut.

Otherwise, your next best bet is to fly into Kennedy Airport, take the 
subway to Grand Central Station where you get the Metro North train that 
goes to Fairfield, Ct.
