ATEG members:

Sorry about my last post. I thought I was responding to Marshall Myers, not the list. My offer of a review copy of my book still stands, however, and I hope to be mailing books out in March. The title has changed to Grammar Today: The New American Language and Grammar Primer. Web site: grammartoday.com (which must be typed into a search engine now). The book covers many language and communication issues at a basic level (it's a primer) but it is not a series of exercises. On the one hand Grammar Today supports the NCTE position on (not) teaching grammar while advocating the teaching of grammar with the goal of improving student style, to give students necessary English language information and inform them about what has been and ought to be taught about grammar.

Again, anyone who wishes to receive a complimentary review copy should email me with her land mail address at [log in to unmask] Do not make the mistake I just made and address the ATEG list. Thank you for this opportunity and for the excellent information discussed on this site. Dick Betting, Professor Emeritus, Valley City State U, Valley City, ND 58072
