Next time you revise your DVD, "Grammar For All", make a note that your past perfect is incorrect.
 
The film states, Felicity has been earning lots of money,
 
and then, Felicity had been earning lots of money,
 
as if the past perfect is the past of the present perfect, which it is not.
 
Lacking timing sequence in the sentence itself or in context, the second Felicity line is not even a correct or complete sentence. Your change made it into a "fragment", or perhaps a "shard" if you don't like "fragment".
