I have just put on my asbestos suit and helmet.
I read the resolution on Teaching grammar and concurred heartily.
I read the background and consider statement 3 a
mixture of begging the question and simple horse-hocky. I have
had too many students ask me why their former teachers
did not teach what I taught. I explained that some did
not know any better because they had never had a teacher
who demanded that they learn, some taught under
principals and school boards who confused political
correctness and language, some were individually victims
of the political correctness that labeled all speech
and written products as being of equal value with a firm belief
that their interpretation of “All men are
created equal” required them to do so. I have refused to teach
under such
asininity.
