I'm surprised no mention has been made of that old phony Holden Caulfield and his desire to be "the catcher in the rye", even as his sister Phoebe reminds him that the phrase is "if a body meet a body comin' through the rye".  Malapropism or mondegreen, I respectfully submit this as the most significant example in contemporary Lit...
