Hi guys! Here is a reminder that proposals for the College English
Association are due on 1 Nov. The theme of the conference is "Imaginations"
and you can find more info here: http://cea-web.org/

If you would like to submit your work as part of an ATEG panel, let me
know. We are hoping to put together a couple of panels this year with 3
speakers each.

Right now, you will need a 1-paragraph description of your presentation as
well as a catchy title.

If you submit independently (not part of a panel), be sure to check the
Grammar or Linguistics interest areas in the submission interface.

Once I get emails from ATEGers who want to work on panels together, I will
set up a small group email exchange so we can figure out who will be on
which panel and how we want to focus the panels.

The College English meeting will be held on March 26-28 in Indianapolis,
IN.

As some of you know, CEA was founded in 1938 by a renegade group of MLA-ers
who wanted more presentations about teaching and about composition at the
annual conferences. At the time, MLA had been focused on literature only,
and presentations tended to favor the Ivies and research schools, with
little voice given to folks from teaching colleges and community colleges.
CEA is an organization of teacher-scholars whose annual program represents
the broad work that English instructors actually undertake. It is also a
warm and welcoming group of folks.

Join us in Indianapolis!

Best--
Linda
