Hi guys! Here's a reminder to submit an abstract to the College English Association via its website by November 1 to become part of our Grammar/Linguistics panels this fall.

College English Association is a national professional organization for teacher-scholars--one of the friendliest professional groups in the country and my absolute favorite meeting to attend!  The spring conference typically takes place on the last weekend in March. Our 2016 meeting will be held from March 31-April 2 at the Grand Hyatt  in Denver, CO. To learn more about the meeting and/or the organization, visit cea-web.org.

In recent years, we have been building the Grammar/Linguistics conference threads at CEA.  Each year we've had several speakers from ATEG join us, so I hope you will consider adding your name to the list this spring!  (And feel free to ask Sherry Saylors, Seth Katz, or Gregg Heacock about their CEA experiences!)

Think about a topic related to language, grammar, and teaching, and submit a proposal (no longer than 500 words) for a 15-minute talk on this topic through the CEA website.
I will be reviewing the grammar/linguistics proposals and putting them onto panels for the program.  This year's theme is Creativity, though your proposal are not obligated to connect to the theme.

If I can help in any way, please don't hesitate to email me via the list or privately through this gmail.
And even if you cannot submit a proposal, please consider attending the CEA conference in Denver. It is a BEST BUY in professional meetings and a very good time!

PS Here is Jeff DeLotto's note about the conference:

We are putting together an outstanding CEA Conference 2016: Creation, in
Denver, CO, March 31-April 2, so please plan to send in your submission as
soon as possible. The deadline of November 1 is fast approaching.

We have already lined up several inspiring speakers and excursions, and are
even adding an open-mic poetry reading one evening. To learn more and to
submit your proposal or join the organization, go to cea-web.org.  If you have
questions, please send me a note.
