Lorain County Community College welcomes you to the Fall 1995 Conference of the Ohio Collegiate Computer Services Association! We encourage you to join us in this cooperative effort to share knowledge and experience. The conference begins on Thursday, November 2, with tours of the campus. The tours will begin between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Stops include: Distance learning/teaching classroom, library, fitness center (available to conference attendees and families), computer labs, and our new early childhood education laboratory school. We hope you can join us for these tours. Just arrive in the Classroom/Conference Center (CCF) Lobby between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Registration for the Thursday evening sessions begins at 6:00 p.m. in the CCF Lobby. Light refreshments will be available. As you probably already know, the theme of the conference is "A Panoply of Issues." Whether you administrative, academic, technical or library staff, you are sure to find topics which will be of interest to you. Thursday evenings sessions include "Effective Design of Web Pages" and "Building a World Wide Web Home Page." On Friday, the keynote address is: "Defining Ethical Rules for a Global Space: The Need for Law on the Internet," by Jeffrey Ritter, ECLIPS Program Director, Ohio Super Computer Center. Other sessions include: "System Conversion: Positioning for the Future," "Creating a Virtual Faculty: Bringing Computers into the Classroom," "Libraries in Cyberspace," and "Facilitating Relationships Between Institutions." A technology fair is also planned. The AS/400 Technology Van will be on campus during the technology fair, in addition to the displays from various colleges and universities.
