I just found you address on the ATHG home paage and am taking the
liberty of writing you in the hope that you may be able to give me some
info and/or guidance on researching the I.O.G.T.( which I believe may
refer to Intl Order of Good Templars?)

My great-great grandfather, John Switzer Cunningham, apparently gave
numerous temperance lectures for this group, as early as 1843/44 in
Philadelphia and as late as 1873 in England. I don't even know for sure
that I have the name of the group figured out correctly? I'm trying to
find out more about Dr. Cunningham - as he apparently styled himself -
and where he lectured, etc.

Do you have any info that might point me in the right direction? Or do
you know who might have info? I'd be most grateful for any help you may
be able to provide. Many thanks,
Carolyn Carter Johnson (email to: [log in to unmask])
