Sidsel Erikson's work is the main comparative work I'm familiar with on
the Nordic countries.  She definately deals with Calvinism. I'm not aware
of explicit comparisons with the US, however.  Harry Levine's paper on
temperance cultures has a general discussion of comparative work on temperance.
