Thanks for your concern and diligence in this matter.
I would like to suggest to the subscribers that this venue be used to post
and view available jobs in our field. It could be limited to occupational
safety and fire and life safety positions at institutions of higher
learning. Postings and viewings would be only by subscribers
(practitioners), and not by any commercial agencies. There is certainly a
need for this, if only for curiousity and evaluation. All follow-up would be
off the list and direct.

Currently the settings are configured so that any person who is not on the
list can send an e-mail message to the list at the address we all use.  I do
have the option of changing the parameters so that I must view and approved
any message that is sent out. Unfortunately I do not have the time to police
the list.  I am going to accept with the fact that occasionally people will
get their advertising messages out to the group. I have sent an e-mail to
the address where the message orrignated and forwarded my displeasure. My
biggest concern is that people will leave the list because of junk or other
non-related mail. If this does continue to be a problem, I will take steps
to secure the list.  I appreciate your time
