Subject: Welcome to Summer Time.

As most of you have sent your students home for the summer and the rest
of
you getting ready to within the next few weeks, I wanted to congratulate
you on a successful year at your school.

Two weeks ago while I was at Bowling Green State University I had the
pleasure of speaking with John Curlis (the Fire Safety Officer for BG
and
member of this list) about having a summer meeting with our discussion
group.

He was agreement that it would be nice to meet different people from
various schools though out the state that has the same job
responsibilities.

The location will be tough to plan, I am inclined to go with some where
in
the Columbus area, possibly the State Fire Marshals Office or even OSU
some
where.

Also, I was thinking (I know that's scary) that the 3rd week of July may
be
a good time to meet.

Some of the Topics I would like to discuss would be a review of NFPA 72
as
it relates to inspection, installation, testing and maintenance of fire
alarm systems. All of us have fire alarm system, and most of us do our
own
testing and over see the installation. Education ideas (its hard to
teach
college students fire safety education - but it can be done). Sharing
code
enforcement ideas, and discussing problems in general. Believe it or
not,
most of us educational facilities have many of the same problems and
issues.

Please give this some thought, If you are wanting to meet for a day.
Hopefully we can do this once or twice a year. We can make and develop
our
own campus fire safety program.

Well, have a good summer, I look forward to hearing from all of you.

-Randy-
