Hi Delegates,

Below is information about three possible new philanthropy ideas I discussed last night. Please share them with your executive board and contact the respective individuals if interested or want more information.

1.) Emma Graham Designs:

Emma Graham visit tons of colleges with her clothing line, Emma Graham Designs to have trunk shows and company actually donates 10% of the proceeds to the sorority's philanthropy. The brand is looking for an organization to host one of these trunk shows. They have visited tons of colleges and the sorority women have loved their clothing!

And if you are curious about the clothing or their company this is the link:

Please contact Alison Angelo at [log in to unmask] if your organization is interested.

2.) Run4Esme:

Tracy Featherstone, an associate professor in the art department, is looking for possible help fundraising for a memorial scholarship fund she started last spring. She is looking for groups interested in fundraising for her cause.

Last year her friend/collaborator’s 13 yr old daughter Esme Kenney was raped and killed while running in a natural area across the street from her house. Since then she have been trying to raise $10,000 to create a memorial scholarship endowment in the name of Esme at Miami. While teaching on the MUDEC campus she ran a marathon and collected @$3500 in donations. You can check out her website, www.run4esme.com. Although great, she still has not been able to raise enough funds on her own to reach the $10,000 goal for an endowment. She was thinking perhaps a sorority or fraternity interested in fundraising for causes such as women and/or violence may be interested in creating an event that could help raise the money she needs.

Please let her know if you have any ideas or ways to help. You can contact Tracy Featherstone at [log in to unmask]

3.) Greeks Fight Back:

Alpha Phi and Sig Ep were hoping to bring a program to campus this semester! Last year Sig Ep hosted the Girls Fight Back program for ladies in the Greek Community. It was a huge success and now Alpha Phi want to try something new this year too.

Alpha Phi and Sig Ep have decided to address all Greeks on campus and get the Greeks Fight Back speaker to come talk about how we all can remain safe in our daily lives. They are currently trying to find another Fraternity and Sorority to help them because the cost is so large, and the more involvement the better! Contact Anna Romano at [log in to unmask] if interested.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather! :)

Thanks,
Larissa
