Dear Student, We would like to invite you to consider joining our class next year. EDP 450G, Teaching At-Risk Youth, is a one-credit hour course that supports Miami Connections, an on-campus alternative school program for at-risk ninth and tenth graders from Talawanda, our local school district. The course meets once a month and provides the tools to work with a teen who needs additional support in and outside school. Mentors meet with their matches once a week in our classroom at Boyd Hall. Successful mentors have come from a variety of majors. In order to participate in this course, you need to be willing to undergo a background check, which we suggest you complete before classes start in the fall.

The class meets once per month on Thursdays, beginning at 7:00 PM. For more information on the experience, please visit our website at www.muohio.edu/connections
or feel free to email me with any questions you might have.

Sincerely, Dr. Leah Wasburn-Moses, EDP, [log in to unmask]
