Molly,
Here is information on that group to send out over the SPED listserv. She is seeking volunteers to get involved and help her lead the group. It is only a 1 – 2 times per month commitment. Thanks!
Hailee

                                                                        The PACK

(People for the Acceptance of Common Kindness) is a group developed by some students (and their parents) as a means to have a social club. We will meet at least 1X per month after school 2-3:30, may plan activities outside of school.

We recognize that:
There are many challenges teens can face:

lack of social interaction in and outside of school
lack of involvement within the school setting
lack of understanding or acceptance by peers

The following are the goals set forth by the students and parents within this club:

To become more involved in the school
To become more involved in the community
To have a forum for students to work on social barriers
To teach others about accepting others
To provide opportunities for friendship and fun
To provide a support forum for parents of high school students facing some of these issues.
