Subject: SUMMER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

Dear Student:

My name is Captain Ryan McCullough. I am the Marine Corps Officer Selection
Officer for the University of Miami. The reason that I am contacting you is
because I want you to be aware of the opportunity to become a Marine Corps
Officer without attending the Naval Academy or participating in ROTC. This
opportunity is called Officer Candidates School (OCS). Located in Quantico,
Virginia, the school is responsible for screening, evaluating, and training
candidates interested in becoming Marine Corps Officers. There are (2)
different programs available to attend OCS:

Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) Program. Freshman and sophomores interested in
becoming Marine Corps officers attend (2) 6-week programs (each one during
the summer between classes). Juniors attend a 10-week program the summer
before their senior year.

Officer Candidates Class (OCC) Program. College seniors and graduates
interested in becoming Marine Corps officers attend a 10-week program after
receiving their degree.

Unlike ROTC, OCS will not interfere with the daily pursuit of your
educational goals and DOES NOT OBLIGATE candidates to military service if
they feel that this opportunity is no longer appealing. OCS is similar to a
summer internship which provides valuable leadership skills. Moreover, the
Marine Corps is currently offering various financial incentives.

A limited number of applicants are selected for every OCS class, and all of
the colleges in the Cincinnati/Dayton area are invited to apply (as well any
college graduates for the OCC program). If this interests you and you would
like to learn more about it, email me at [log in to unmask] or
contact me at 800-858-4086 so that we can sit down and talk about the
program in detail.

Sincerely,

Capt Ryan McCullough
Cincinnati Officer Selection Officer
