Dear Colleagues:



The Howe Writing Center is in the process of recruiting students to work as consultants for Spring 2013. The Howe Center for Writing Excellence consultant’s primary responsibility is to work with students who bring their writing to the center.  Other responsibilities include promoting the Howe and Windate Writing Centers across campus, supporting programs offered by the Center for Writing Excellence, and assisting with the day-to-day running of both centers.



Consultants continually improve their level of expertise through regular workshops, one-on-one mentoring, half-day recertification seminars at the beginning of each semester, and optional attendance at writing center conferences, where they have the opportunity to present their own research and to meet consultants from other universities.



We encourage consultants to combine their academic, career, and personal interests with their work at the Center. Past and current consultants have planned events, designed posters, created graphics, used their technology skills in a variety of ways, designed and written the consultant alumni newsletter, and helped plan and conduct recruitment for new consultants.
