What can Conflict Resolution Education (CRE) Help Schools Achieve?

Conflict Resolution Education (CRE) has proven effective in reducing negative student behavior, improving classroom climate, enhancing students' social and emotional competencies, and providing students critical skills for cooperatively managing conflicts with peers and adults. There is strong evidence proving the link between CRE and academic achievement. Building School Success through Social and Emotional Learning (Zins, Weissberg, Wang, & Walberg, 2004) reports an impressive body of research proving that students’ social-emotional competence fosters better academic performance.
