I am having an event on campus this Tuesday about an international volunteer opportunity for OSU students through Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE). The reason that I’m emailing is because I’d appreciate your assistance in informing your students about this event.
GIVE leads a series of volunteer programs that focus on sustainable community development and cultural immersion in Tanzania and Nicaragua during the summer. Volunteers will build schools out of recyclable materials, assist in fresh water projects, teach English, coordinate and design educational programs in conjunction with the local government, and help protect critically endangered species. When not volunteering they will have the opportunity to participate in different cultural and adventure activities within the region.

Make a valuable change in someone’s life by joining (GIVE) Growth International Volunteer Excursions! GIVE is having informational meetings this Tuesday, October 2nd about amazing volunteer opportunities in Africa and Central America this summer, and we hope to see you there!
Become a part of our volunteer community and empower local villages abroad in either: Nicaragua on both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts;or Africa on the island of Zanzibar and the savanna’s of mainland Tanzania. GIVE is dedicated to creating opportunities for community development and personal growth through education, building infrastructure, and environmental conservation projects.
GIVE’s volunteer initiatives include building much needed schools out of recyclable materials, tutoring and teaching English to children, and implementing fresh water projects to provide clean water. You will also be working directly with organizations focused on important conservation projects to protect the hawksbill and leatherback sea turtle population as well as the local caiman and crocodile populations. Intermixed with your volunteer work, you will sand board down active volcanoes in Nicaragua, go on incredible safaris and explore caves in Africa, surf, scuba dive, spearfish, and swim with sea turtles and sharks, or even climb Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest peak in Africa!
Not only will you have a hands-on experience, but you will also learn about sustainable development and cross-cultural relations! GIVE will tailor your program to align with your education or experience, and you may even receive academic credit!
Come meet us to learn more about this opportunity! Meetings are this Tuesday, October 2nd in the Shriver Center in the Benjamin Harrison Room. Meetings start @: 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00pm!!!
