EDT 246

Middle Childhood majors who still need to take EDT 246 should sign up for a
new section that will be taught by Dr. Bill Therrien. This section will
only be open to special education mild/moderate majors and minors. If you
fall into this category, email Tom Southern with some suggestions about
times to offer it.

PHS 232

Contrary to some advisement information you may have received, student
Services has informed us that Middle childhood special education majors must
take ENG 262 or PHS 415 as an elective. They may not substitute PHS 232 for
PHS 245 as was previously thought.

SCEC
The first meeting of Student CEC will take place on October 26 at 7:30 p. m.
in Irvin 224. The meeting will offer information about volunteering
opportunities, SCEC sponsored activities, and begin the task of organizing
for our trip to National CEC in Baltimore this coming April. The featured
speaker for the evening is Dr. Tom Kopp who will talk about the concept of
motivation for your future students and for yourself in the profession. Dr.
Kopp is an exciting and dynamic presenter. If you can not attend, please
contact me for information about joining and participating in SCEC.

Upcoming events:
Praxis preparation is coming at the end of Oct. Dates and sites will be
announced next week.
