Please see below for a parent who's looking for assistance with his children. Great experience! Sincerely, Dr. Leah

Hello,
We are wanting to contact someone to see if Miami University has a program for students learning special education or any students that would be interestd in the opportunity to get some experience working with kids that have special educational needs. Our children are currently enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy, which is a virtual online public school.
We have 3 children, ages 14, 12,and 8. Here is a little information one each child:
The 14 year old is a male that has multiple diagnoses, including Tourette's, Aspergers, ADHD, OCD & ODD.
The 12 year old is a female that was born with a liver disease. She just had a liver transplant in March of this year. After surgery she suffered a major seizure and brain swelling. The swelling hasgone away, but she still suffers from it and also the side effects of her medications. Some of the issuesare concentration and comprehension.
The 8 year old is a male and hasn't been diagnosed yet but we believe he does have ADHD.
Last year we had the 12 year old in home schooling due to complications from her disease and the 14 year old started half way through the school year. This year all 3 have enrolled into the virtual school. As you can imagine, this has been proven to be difficult for one person (my wife) to handle on a daily basis. Thus the reason we are reaching out to see if there are any sources to get help from.
What we are asking for is if there are any students that would be interested in coming to our house a few days a week or more, just for a few hours to help our children with their work. We are willing to pay for the gas or a minor dollar amount for their time. We don't have a lot of money to offer as I am the only source of income and along with medical expenses it puts a strain on our finances. We live in Okeana, OH which is about 15 miles from Oxford and 13 miles from the Hamilton Campus.
Feel free to contact us either by email or phone.
