Subject: Internship opportunity

Hello Ms. Cambron-McCabe,

My name is Alicia Olson, I work with the YWCA in Hamilton, Ohio. I am
writing you to inform you of an exciting internship opportunity for your
female students.

The YWCA, in collaboration with Miami University Hamilton Nursing Program,
has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
to serve 16-19 year old females in four counties (Butler, Hamilton, Warren,
and Montgomery) through the FOCUS program. The goal of this program is to
provide evidence-based curriculum to educate young women on issues such as
responsible and healthy behaviors, relationships, communication skills, as
well as pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention.

The goal of the program is to empower young women to be bold, strong, and
assertive about the rights they have concerning their health and their
sexual decisions. While FOCUS is not an abstinence-only program, we do
cover the importance of abstinence throughout the program.

Ours is an eight-hour multi-session program which can be broken up to fit
the need of the organization. The program is delivered by YWCA community
educators, along with third year nursing students enrolled in Miami
University Baccalaureate nursing program. There is no cost to participate
in the program. Participants, however, receive a $50 gift card for
completing the program. They will be asked to complete two follow up
surveys over a one year period. For each completed and returned survey, an
additional $50 gift card will be given. The survey data is collected and
input by students at Miami University.

We are looking for young women to intern with our program and help with the
implementation of the program. They will also be able to assist in
creating/strengthening community contacts, as well as with any day-to-day
operations within our program.

I am attaching the internship flyer to this email, but I would be more than
happy to drop off a copy to you if that works better. It is our hope that
you will display the flyer where you see fit. If you have any questions you
can contact me, or the program director, Jennifer Kruger at 513-856-9800 ext
124 or [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
