latest developments in the ongoing story of the presidential
election. Guests: Norm Ornstein, American Enterprise Institute; Joan

        2: Richard North Patterson: Patterson's latest political
thriller, "Protect and Defend" (Knopf), seems to come straight from
the latest headlines. Its plot twists include a very close
presidential election, and a controversial case that comes before the
Supreme Court

        The 1800 Election. One of the most hotly disputed elections
in American history, the presidential election of 1800 between 2
framers of the constitution who had become enemies, Thomas Jefferson
and John Adams. Terry talks with historian BERNARD WEISBERGER, author
of "America Afire."

SPECIAL TIME: Talk of the Nation (1 - 4 pm)
        1: Legal analysis. An analysis of the latest political news
in the post-election battle for the White House.
        2 and 3: Post-election update. Latest developments from the
U.S. Supreme Court.

All Things Considered (4 - 7 pm)
