Every age has its visionaries. The information age is no different.
Guest Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux operating system, is the
high tech community's living folk hero.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon); guest host Steve Roberts
Hour One: Diamond Industry: In Sierra Leone and a few other African
countries, illegal trade in diamonds funds the activities of rebel
and terrorist groups. A panel talks about past and future plans to
break the link between brutal violence and the international diamond
business. Guests: Matthew Runci, president and CEO of Jewelers of
America; Rep. Tony Hall (D-Ohio); Serge Duss, World Vision
Hour Two: Chet Raymo: the Boston Globe columnist and physics
professor presents "An Intimate Look at the Night Sky" (Walker). It's
a guide to stargazing -- offering both star maps of the
constellations visible in each season, and essays on what we know and
are still learning about the universe around us.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Noon - 1pm)
A talk with Pultizer-prize winning historian DAVID MCCULLOUGH about
his new biography of John Adams.Thomas Jefferson once described him
as "the colossus of independence." But Adams was largely overshadowed
by Washington and Jefferson, the presidents who served before and
after him.

Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi (1pm - 2pm)

SHOULD YOU BUY THAT E-BOOK? MOST EVERYONE WILL AGREE IN THE WORLD OF

CONSEQUENCES AND LEARNING TO CHOOSE NEW MACHINES WISELY. Guest: Jason

Talk of the Nation with Juan Williams (2pm - 4pm)
Hour One: WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR TAX CUT? Will you get a piece of it?
Hour Two: GOVERNOR JANE SWIFT/WORKING MOM DEBATE: Acting Governor
Jane Swift of Massachusetts is the first governor in U-S history to
give birth while in office. Her decision not to resume a full-time
work schedule is reviving the debate about women in the workplace.
Juggling work and family -- should it really be a gender issue?

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
Even in their teenage years many criminals are repeat offenders, and
find themselves in and out of court and juvenile detention. In
Washington state, a program called Team Child tries to break the
cycle. It brings mental health professionals, lawyers and others
together to focus on individual cases. Other states are looking to
Team Child as a model to start their own programs.
