Hello all. In my research on the WCTU in Kansas I keep coming across
references to "Demorest medal contests" during the 1880s and 1890s which I
assume were recitation contests of some sort that may have emphasized
Prohibition ideals. Can anyone confirm this for me or give me a source
for more information? Thank you.
