Subject: Study Abroad in the Czech Republic - Informational Meeting

Study abroad in the Czech Republic this June!  Informational meetings will be held Monday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in room 219 McGuffey Hall, and Wednesday, February 27 at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in room 418 McGuffey Hall.  Choose one that best fits your schedule!  Can't attend but interested?  Contact Dr. Brenda Dales at [log in to unmask] for individual appointments at your convenience!

This is a 4-credit summer workshop, which can be used for global credit, or can be petitioned as a capstone for students with senior status. 

Tentative dates are June 5-25, 2013.  You will arrive in Prague, travel to Poland where you will visit Auschwitz and Birkenau as well as Krakow, and spend two weeks in Olomouc, Czech Republic, where you will teach conversational English to children in a public school while living with a host family.  There will be side trips, and you will spend additional days enjoying Prague. 

No previous experience teaching English language learners or other teaching experience is required!

Also, Dr. Howard Blanning, award-winning Miami professor (recently retired) and the person who developed this long-standing program will be on the trip at key points!  Don't miss this unique opportunity to study with Howard!
