Hello All,
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Kayla Nunez. Kimberly Johnson and I will we co-presidents of the Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) for the 2014-2015 school year. We are extremely excited to take on this role and have many plans for the future of SCEC. For those who do not know what SCEC is, we are a student chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children, a professional organization for special educators across the nation. As a student chapter, we plan fundraisers to help fund students to go to national professional conference, work with teachers and other professionals in the community, fundraise for a philanthropy, and put on our annual Little League Challenger Day. We would like to see SCEC continue to grow as an organization on campus and among Special Education majors. To accomplish this we are looking for excited and dedicated individuals to join our executive board next year! There are several positions we are looking to fill. We are looking for a treasurer, a secretary, a public relations chair, a fundraising chair, and a community outreach chair. Each position and their expected responsibilities are listed below.
