It turns out that *The New Yorker* does not accept "In the
mail" submissions by fax. Because I had to resubmit it via
"snail mail," I also took the opportunity to revise the
letter a little. If so inclined, drop me an e-note & I'll
be happy to send the revised text and, in effect, the actual
submission to anyone by return e-mail. Thanks. Ron
