Thanks for the wonderful bibliography on the slave trade, Jose. One
footnote thereto is that John McCuster's monumental dissertation was
indeed published and is available in a two volume set. The citation
is:
McCusker, John J., _Rum and the American Revolution: The Rum Trade and
the Balance of Payments of the Thirteen Colntinental Colonies_, vols. 1
& 2, New York & London: Garland Publishing, Inc., 1989.
The pair set me back about $80 as I recall.
It was published in the "Outstanding Studies in Early American History"
series, edited by John Murrin.
(Mellssa: McCusker is a must, and an astonishing piece of scholarly
thoroughness!)
