This is my official disclaimer of responsibility for the
misspelling of "Woman's" in the title of my recently published article,
"Temperance Crusade and the Women's Christian Temperance Union," WOMEN'S
STUDIES ENCYCLOPEDIA, revised and expanded edition, ed. Helen Tierney
(Westport, Connecticut: Greenwood Press, 1999), pp. 1402-1404. The last
version of the article I saw, the copyedited typescript, had it correct.
Publication was complicated, to say the least, by the sudden death in
October 1997 of the editor. Apparently the publisher changed the spelling
in my article title to correspond with previous misspellings elsewhere in
the encyclopedia.
Also, in the suggested readings, note that McGill-Queens
University Press publishes in Kingston, Ontario, not Kingston, California.
