After rising early to walk my daughter's basset hound puppy, I collapsed with
my breakfast toast to watch a TV business program, Bloomberg News. One story
concerned a Japanese bank acquiring over 100 English pubs mostly in the
Midlands. The story mentioned that this acquisition followed that of another
Japanese bank which became the biggest single English pub-owner by purchasing
over 300 pubs from Grand Metropolitan and Fosters. Globalization!
