On Friday, 7 January 2000, 9:30-11:30 am, Illinois Room, Marriott, Chicago,
there will be a session of the ATHG in conjunction with the American
Historical Association annual meeting.  The session, "Reinterpreting the
Woman's Crusade of 1873-74," chaired by Scott C. Martin, Bowling Green
State, will include two papers, Nancy G. Garner, Wright State, "The Panic
of 1873 and the Woman's Crusade of 1873-74: The Crusade against the Saloon
as a Critique of Capitalism," and Michelle Strecker, Toledo, "Mother
Stewart and the Ohio Woman's Temperance Crusade, 1873-74," with comments by
Alison M. Parker, Texas at Arlington, and Madelon Powers, New Orleans.

W. Scott Haine is organizing a business meeting of the ATHG at Chicago.
