Inspired by a recent exchange on this list, I have come up with a
small suggestion. I'm not certain if it's feasible, but here's the
suggestion nonetheless. Since a large portion of the posts to the
list are queries about sources, I suggest that: (1) we send our
various bibliographies to the list for downloading, or (2) our list
managers construct a some sort of ftp site for accessing
bibliographic information, or (3) we use some other technique that
allows the list membership to access or download a bibliographic
database. While I'm not opposed to bibliographic queries, I do
believe that we can greatly streamline our collective task of
information retrieval.
Does this sound like a good idea? Are members willing to share their
bibliographies? Is it technically feasible? Any responses?
