I believe that Sarah Tracey's Ph.D. dissertation on female inebriety which
used records from the Massachusetts institution for Inebriets will be
helpful.

I am a new subscriber to the list and I am newly interested in the history of
alcoholism. I am a historian of medicine and women and I am interested in
writing on fetal alcohol syndrome from a historical perspective. I am going
to begin by looking at the medical literature, with which I am most familiar.
I would like to hear from anyone who can assist me and with whom I can talk
directly on the internet.
