I have been given your address by Ian Tyrrell so hope its OK to write. I'm
a postgraduate student at Monash University history department, researching
the life of Miss Helen Hart (born 1840 Birmingham UK died Melbourne 1908).
Hart was a journalist and lecturer who spoke on women's rights, temperance,
politics and social concerns, as well as preaching the gospel. I suspect
she was a member of the Good Templars, but an email to that organisation in
Britain remains unanswered, and there doesn't seem to be an address for
Australia. Because she travelled constantly, throughout Victoria, New South
Wales and South Australia, at least, she's been difficult to trace. I would
appreciate any sightings of her anywhere! Thanks in advance,
Helen D. Harris OAM
