Dear Jason,

I took a look at you Web Page and liked it very much. This is an
excellent sort of use for the WWW it seems to me. I did stumble a bit
on your assertion about 18-year-olds dying in Vietnam--and I'd be
interested to know how many 18-year-olds actually did. If I remember
correctly--and I'm old enough to do so!--the draft never dipped below
nineteen-and-a-half-year-olds. I don't know how many volunteers may
have been younger.

I'm inclined to think that a link to your Web Page--good and
interesting as it is--would be inappropriate on ATHG's Web Page. The
chief reason is that ATHG is a scholarly organization with no political
agena or stands regarding any alcohol-related issue.

I am, however, taking the liberty of forwarding this correspondence to
the ATHG webmaster and also to ATHG-L, the group's listserve. Other
ATHG members will then have the opportunity to look over your Web Page
and offer their own views.

Thank you for alterting to me to your page.

Best regards,

Ron Roizen
Secretary-Treasurer
ATHG
