Thanks for making the mistake!  I do miss addict-l, and its nice to get a
brief look at what's going on. You raise some interesting points.  What
about "medicine" as soteriology?  Perhaps therapeutic discourse is not that
far from religious/legal/moral.  See Byron Good's _Medicine, Rationality,
and Experience_.
