This literally means "the result validates the deeds" and may be used to
try to scare a person away from alcohol/drugs with lies, as was
initially done at some times during temperance meetings as they warned
against spontaneous combustion or the like.
---------------

An old Roman proverb with the meaning "in wine, the truth". It implies
that people who are drunk will say things that they could conceal if

--------------------
ne Aesopum quidem trivit
    nay I-saw-puum KWIH-dem TREE-wit
meaning: He doesn't know beasn about anything.

Aesops fables was used as a primer for Roman schoolboys, so this means
literally, "He has not even thumbed through Aesop." and is a strong
condemnation. It might apply to one who has not even been to an AA meeting,
but claims to know all about AA.
