I am new to the formal study of temperance history, but have been
interested in discussing the philosophy/theology behind the movement for
some time.  On homebrewing and religous lists, I have discussed the bases
for temperance trends with others and have posited various logical
arguments against a formal temperance force within government.  I would
like to know if discussions like these have gone on within this list, or
if the primary purpose of the list is to exchange information focused on
history, rather than history's effect on today and trends for tomorrow.
I am no expert on temperance history, but enjoy discussing what has gone
on and what has motivated the movements over time.
