Re Tim Horton's
Greg Marquis has pinpointed true Canadianism: Tim Horton's. We have 6 now in our small city, all of which are packed all the time. Tim Horton's is not strictly American owned, from what I understand. The Canadian owner merged Tim's with Wendy's and now is a junior partner.
And you never know who's there. When we lived in Fredericton, just down the road from Greg's Saint John, New Brunswick, my husband recognized one of the 'seedier dressed' characters as a Provincial Supreme Court Judge, hanging out with The People.
And call me a troglodyte, but I'll take Tim's mild brewed coffee over Starbuck's overpriced battery acid anytime...
