Concerning Prohibition Records:
 
        I know little about Prohibition Bureau Records themselves, but fifteen
years ago or so I went through the prosecution records for all federal
prosecutions from New Orleans dealing with liquor violations in the
1920s.  They were in justice department files, and at that time were
located in the main National Archives building near the D.C. Mall.
 
        Generally, the U.S. Attorney in New Orleans (or elsewhere) had to
secure approval from Washington to begin a prosecution.  So the file
would occasionally contain interesting information when the local U.S.
Attorney summarized the evidence for the D.C. office.
