I seem to have missed the first part of this conversation, but I am also
looking at psychiatry in the U.S. (from 1920- ). Found a rather
comprehensive bibliography on the Web, though the address is on my laptop
and will have to wait till this afternoon. However, here are some people
I've been reading:
Walter Bromberg
Zilboorg
Rooy Porter
Theodore Szasz

There is an excellent collection by Micale and Porter, Discovering
Psychiatry that really helped me as a neophyte to the area.
